[Must Read] “Act Like Matured Men”; Open Letter To Wizkid And Davido

Dear Wizkid/ Davido,

Wizzy, Just like you sang “if you see me pass by…holla at your boy” hmmmm….! I must say i can see you passing by a degrading path, as such you leave me with little or no option than to holla at you and air my unreserved opinion as regards your probable beef with Davido.

Life they say is turn by turn. The emergence of another hit maker like you does not necessarily translate to the emergence of an enemy or competitor, just like they say “the only competition worthy of a wise man is with himself”. Do not allow fans and the media make enemies out of a flourishing “pair” who could possibly pull a joint stunt of bringing home the Grammy.

Though you are WizKID, I must remind you that you ain’t a kid no more as such leave the beef thing for kids and act like a matured man you should be now.

When you’ve got issues with someone who appears ready to bury the hatchet, simply let bygones be bygones, after all we all break up to make up shey? So just like your bro Davido rightly pointed out, remember you both are not going to sing forever, as such I would advise both of you try and see beyond your nose and do the needful.

On the other hand, Davido, just like you sang “….won fe da mi duro….” I must point out to you that the beef game/hate will do you no good than to stop the enviable pace at which you are moving if you allow it, so why give it a chance? Throwing shades back at Wizzy about pulling of crowd and other stuffs only made you sound lesser than your very self because such should be heard of rookies and not young bosses like you both.

Remember, two wrongs don’t make a right dude.
The ability to ignore shades thrown at you, most especially when your name can’t be boldly mentioned goes a long way to prove your level of maturity and save you lots of distractions. Must you respond to statements not boldly addressed to you?
Common guys….keep being headliners for good reasons just like you used to do and put negativity behind you.

I want you both to simply pretend not to have read this, squash the beef and in one accord produce a Grammy winning track for your fans.

Lastly, I must remind you both that crazy love from fans, awards, record and endorsement deals ain’t made in abattoirs, as such “BEEF” can’t get you any of them, so squash the beef and resume the cruise on progress lane.

#No Beef! Peace Out!!!

15 Arguments No Guy Has Ever Won Against His Girlfriend (And Never Will)

Being in a relationship isn’t all holding hands and rainbows and consistent intimacy. There comes a time, every so often, when a couple butts heads, which is exactly why they invented make-up s*x.

As much as he protests, as much as he tries to fight back, there are just some arguments that no matter what, a man will never win.

Because — repeat after me — the lady is always right.

Here are 11 arguments a guy will never win with his girlfriend.

1. The “Be Honest” Fight
“Be honest. Do you think I’ve gained weight?”
“Maybe a little bit.”
“WHAT?!”
“You said be honest….”
That’s the thing about honesty — when someone asks for it, it probably means you should lie.

Except when it comes to questions about her weight, her Bottom and her parents… then you should definitely lie.

2. The “Why Were You Checking Her Out?” Fight
Even if you weren’t checking out another girl, even your eyeballs could not have possibly looked in the direction your girlfriend is claiming, even if there wasn’t an actual female in sight.

You’re never going to win this argument. And the more you protest, the more she’ll fire back.

Take a tip from my senior history teacher: Always give her the view of the restaurant so your eyes aren’t tempted to wander.

3. The “I Can’t Read Your Mind” Fight
“I didn’t mean it when I said I didn’t want to celebrate our anniversary!”

4. The “I Caught You Looking At P.orn” Fight
Men are always getting caught looking at p.orn, and this time it’s no different. Tuck your tail under, tell her the requisite things she needs to hear and have some make-up s*x that’s better than the movies.

5. The “Leaving Flirty Comments On Facebook” Fight
Oh, so you thought we wouldn’t see that borderline slutty comment you left on that girl’s Facebook photo in which she so happens to look pretty darn good like a b*tch? Delete it now or else you shall feel the wrath of one thousand suns.

6. The “We’re Watching ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Tonight” Fight
We promise you’ll really like it in the end! It’s so good, there’s even Meryl Streep and we all just die over her. Thanks baby, you’re the best! Shut. It. Down.

7. The “Make More Of An Effort With My Friends” Fight
You know what you have to do. Even if it means dancing to Katy Perry and not touching your girlfriend’s Bottom for two hours.

8. The “I’m Drunk And Irrational And Need Attention” Fight
This fight is not unlike a Russian movie — it’s painful to get through and difficult to interpret, but there could be worse things, like needing to hold her hair back.

9. The “Why Do You Still Have That Unclad Photo?” Fight
Who the eff is that girl andwhere can I get her trainerdelete that sh*t right now.
Why do you still have it and you better not have opened it since 2005. Congratulations bro, you just unleashed a whole load of cray cray, so make like a scissor and cut it out.

10. The “You Seriously Want To Chill With Your Bros More Than Me?” Fight
Do your friends have bosoms? Did they pick up those chocolate-covered bananas you like? That’s right. Didn’t think so. Go have fun playing video games and picking your noses with the guys.

11. The “You’re Coming To The Beyoncé Concert With Me” Fight
She’s an icon and you know it. We won’t even mind if you hold your balls the entire night to secure your manliness. Great, buying the tickets now. We love you like XO.

12. The “I Found Something On Your Phone That I Didn’t Like” Fight
So, we went snooping through your phone — clearly we needed to do some investigating.
It still doesn’t compare to the perceived offensive text messages you’ve been engaging in.
Regardless of how pissed you are that she broke your privacy, perhaps you shouldn’t give her any reason to do so.

13. The “Why Are You Wishing Your Ex A Happy Birthday?” Fight
We don’t care if she threw a “Billy Madison”- style birthday party and then offered you a gigantic slice of cake. We all know what saying “Happy Birthday” to an ex means: I’m still not over you and I want you to think of me on your special day. Her candle was blown out ages ago.

14. The “I Don’t Want To Leave This Party Early” Fight
Unless you plan on getting cozy with your hand tonight, you will stay with us until we are ready to leave. This isn’t us making a scene, it’s us relishing in the scene.

15. The “Tell Me You Love Me” Fight
This one usually doesn’t come out until you’ve fought about something completely unrelated for 20 minutes. Who said girls were complicated?

Man kills wife In Lagos For Allegedly Infecting Him With HIV

Philip Katongu (pictured above) from Wamba, Nasarawa State has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death, Punch reports.
According to reports, Katongu stabbed his wife to death in a street at Oniru Estate, Maroko, Lagos, where they lived. Police say she was stabbed at least three times. After he was arrested by operatives of the Department of Criminal Investigations, Yaba, Lagos, Katongu, 45, claimed he killed her because she infected him with HIV and then wanted to leave him for another man. He explained:

“I married Justina, my second wife in December 2010. I later learnt that she had given birth to two girls for a man. The girls died of AIDS. However, when we first met, she did not tell me all these. I explained to her that I have a wife with children and I wanted to marry her too. Before marriage, I told her we should go to hospital to conduct HIV test, but she refused and said that she was HIV negative. So we started sleeping together.”

Katongu claimed that without his knowledge, his wife had been going to Abuja for medical treatment every three months for HIV, until March 2013 when she took him along.
He said it was at the hospital that she disclosed her HIV status to him.

“I was angry and told the doctor who equally blamed her for not disclosing it to me. The doctor then tested me, and I was positive. We came back to Lagos and continued with the relationship because I loved her. But suddenly, she told me she wanted to pack out from my house that she was no longer interested in marrying me having had another person in Abuja. In fact, the man usually called her on phone while we were together.

“I told her that with her status, she should not go and be infecting people with the virus. And that I will kill her and kill myself. We started fighting and I stabbed her. It was in the early hours. I stabbed her three times with a knife. She shouted and people were knocking at our door.

After she died, I stabbed myself, and the people broke the door open. I woke up to find myself in a hospital. I feel very bad that I killed my wife. I loved her very much.”

Ebola Virus: Catholic Church Suspends Mouth Communion, Handshake

In a bid to avert the spread of Ebola virus, the Catholic and Anglican Church have halted some practice which includes hand to mouth communion and the ‘sign of peace’ where the congregation shake hands during communion.

With the increasing fear of the spread of Ebola across Nigeria, the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja on Sunday announced new procedures for worshippers at Masses to check likely spread of the Ebola virus.

The new procedures which include the administration of the Holy Communion on the palm of the faithful as against placing it on the tongue of the recipient, was announced by Rev. Fr. Moses Jimbili, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Nyanya.

Jimbili told parishioners at the church that the measure was a directive by the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, as check on the spread of Ebola disease.

Onaiyekan’s directive is contained in a statement issued by the Director of Social Communications in the archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Patrick Alumunku.

“Due to the prevailing national situation on the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), I am directing that the following pastoral guidelines should be observed throughout our Archdiocese till further notice.

“The sign of peace should be omitted at Mass, Communion in the hand is highly recommended and should be encouraged (unless for those who insist on receiving on the tongue),” the statement quoted the Cardinal as saying.

Jimbili said: “You know some people sweat a lot and since one of the ways the virus can be transmitted is through sweating, it will be better to stop handshake so that one does not contract it.’’

The Primate of the Church Of Nigeria Anglican Communion the Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh has also suspended shaking of hands during the exchange of the peace.
He also suspended the age long mouth method of administering communion.

He said this is aimed at preventing the spread of the disease through physical contact.
The Archbishop of Lagos Adewale Martins released a statement yesterday saying that while the handshakes have been suspended, Catholic priests should continue the traditional hand to mouth method of given Holy Communion for now, but asked the priest to make sure their hands don’t touch the tongues of the recipient.

He also said Holy Water bowls usually placed at the entrance of churches should be discontinued to contain the spread of the virus.

The Director of Social Communication in the Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Pius Ukor shedding light on the new arrangement said under priests will now place holy communion into the palms of the receivers who will put it in their mouths while the rite of peace in the liturgy is now optional during holy masses.

Meanwhile the Parish Administrator, Blessed Iwene Tansi Independent Station, Iba Pope, Awada, Rev. Fr. Paul Nwosu speaking on the Ebola virus disease said the spread of the killer disease is a manifestation of signs of end time, according to Daily Sun.

He, however, advised Nigerians to insure their lives by living righteously.

Osun Gov Poll Loss Painful – Presidency

The Presidency on Sunday said it was painful that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party lost the Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State to the All Progressives Congress.
Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Political Affairs, Prof. Rufa’i Alkali, said this while conducting a facility tour on Goodluck 2 Goodluck (G2G) 2015 Project national headquarters in Abuja.

He said. “Today we would have celebrated Osun victory. It is however, a very painful day for us because the PDP candidate and the party had completed their home work and we know the people of Osun are tired of what is happening in the state, but here we are.

“I hope the APC, which is in the habit of complaining of having security agencies in ensuring enabling environment for election and is consistent in controversy and rejecting election results, will reject this Osun state gubernatorial election result.”
He however commended Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for the roles they played in delivering a credible election in Osun.

Speaking on the groups canvassing for the reelection of President Jonathan in 2015, the Special Adviser said “Since assumption of office, we inherited 3,000 Goodluck Support groups, some have been existing and some are new, and we felt it is only those that are serious, and that we know each and every one of them, in faces, not only on papers, know what they can do and how we can collaborate with them.

The national coordinator of G2G and former governorship candidate of PDP in Edo state, Gen. Charles Airhiavbere (retd.) vowed that President Jonathan would return in 2015.
“Our target is 50 million volunteers to mobilise so as to ensure that President Jonathan wins in 2015,” he said.

FG Not Serious About Fighting Ebola – Doctors, Nurses

The Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association and the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives have accused the Federal Government of not being proactive enough in the fight against the Ebola Virus Disease.

The doctors and nurses said at separate news conferences in Lagos on Sunday, that the government had yet to put in place adequate measures to protect health workers willing to manage those infected by the deadly virus.

The state NMA, through its chairman, Dr. Tope Ojo, therefore challenged the federal and Lagos state governments to provide protective kits and address the issue of hazard allowance for doctors, nurses and other health workers ready to be involved in treating infected persons.

It also faulted the life insurance cover announced by both the federal and state governments, saying its provisions had yet to be spelt out.

The NMA said, ‘‘Any health worker that is managing an Ebola patient is risking his/her life and that of his family. Ebola has killed over 61 doctors in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. It is a serious issue.

“You don’t just dangle life insurance without documents. We cannot endanger our lives unless we know what is at stake. We should be assured that should anything happen to us, our families are catered for.

“The terms of the insurance must be in public domain in a transparent manner.
“It is sad that it had to take an Ebola outbreak, for government to realise that health workers need life insurance cover.”

Also at the news conference, the association’s Secretary, Dr. Babajide Saheed, said it was imperative for both governments to put in place adequate infection control measures to effectively check the spread of the EVD.

Saheed said,” Please you journalists should visit the IDH(Infectious Diseases Hospital in Yaba and find out what the Federal Government has put in place for effective infection control.
“Please compare it to what health workers in Guinea and Liberia had while treating Ebola patients.

“Till now, the Federal and state governments have not come out with a concrete position on the life insurance cover they have offered to us and the public.

“By protecting health workers that are managing suspected or confirmed cases of Ebola, you are protecting the public from infections, because doctors are part of the society.”
The Lagos NMA also used the opportunity to declare that the nationwide strike by doctors had not been called off.

Also, nurses, at their own news conference, said it was regrettable that the Federal Government had not learnt to act fast during emergency situations like the Ebola virus outbreak.

They also berated the Federal Ministry of Health for negotiating with the NMA to end its strike, saying that the association (NMA) was not a trade union but a professional body which had no right to boycott work.

Their President, Mr. Abdrufai Adeniji, said, “It is appalling that Nigeria is still at the stage of making arrangements when the virus has already been granted certificate of occupancy and has taken full residence in the country. “Government should learn to copy true international best practice which its agents are quick to shout when they are on their mission of deceit.

“Serious governments have already put in place precautionary measures to prevent the pandemic on their soil and some even have treatments even though such are still in the clinical trial stage.

“Government needs to understand that its business should be doing more than it says and taking actions that surpass mere arrangements.”
He commiserated with the family of the nurse who lost her life after contracting the disease while treating Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian man who brought the disease into the country.

Adeniji urged nurses to exercise extreme caution while treating Ebola patients as they stood a higher risk of contracting the disease than doctors.

He said, “We hereby call on nurses to remain committed to their calling and be cautious of the precautionary measures to forestall further incidences. The government at all levels should do their part to provide adequate equipment infrastructure, protective wears, policies to take care of the victims of the virus and other deadly issues.
“The government should immediately set up an intervention team to attend to the situation.”

Catholic church suspends sign of peace
Also, the Catholic Church has instructed its priests to henceforth suspend all forms of physical contacts during service, including the traditional sign of peace, which involves shaking of hands with other worshippers during service.

This directive was contained in a statement by the Catholic Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos, Adewale Martins, titled “The Outbreak of Ebola Virus – a pastoral approach.
“Taking into consideration the fact that this rite is optional, we shall henceforth omit it i.e. not invite people to offer the sign of peace. When you get to this rite, skip it,” Martins said in the statement.

Apart from calling for the discontinuation of placing of water bowls at the entrances of parishes of the church, the Archbishop encouraged the use of gloves when counting offerings as other means of stemming EVD’s spread.

The statement read in part, “The use of Holy Water Fonts at the entrance of the church should be discontinued forthwith until the virus alert is lifted. This does not preclude private use of Holy waters in homes and offices.”

“Priest are also advised to be cautious when visiting sick members, especially when they are to administer the sacrament of anointing for the sick. They are equally advised to avoid physical contacts when giving out the Holy communion to members.

“Priests should exercise caution when they go for sick calls, particularly when they have to administer the sacrament of the anointing of the sick. They should ensure regular handwashing after visiting patients in the hospital or homes.”

In Abuja, the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Metropolitan, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, also called on members of the church to refrain from shaking hands during the sign of peace session.

Onaiyekan, in an interview with journalists on Sunday, explained that the church was taking necessary precautionary steps to avoid the spread of the disease.
Onaiyekan however clarified that the warning does not mean that the church had banned shaking of hands during mass.

He said, “We did not ban handshaking during mass. We are only discouraging it and it is going to be temporary until it is clear that Nigeria is no longer under Ebola threat.
“It’s a possible means to avoid the spread of Ebola virus and also prayers to keep the country safe. Many people are not comfortable with shaking people they don’t know during this period of Ebola, so there is need to take such steps.”

13 Things To Remember When Life Gets Rough [A Must Read]

We’ve all gone through hard times. And we all get through them. However, some get through them better than others. So what is their secret? Most of it has to do with attitude. Here are 13 things to remember when life gets rough:

1. What is, is.
Buddha’s famous saying tells us: “It is your resistance to ‘what is’ that causes your suffering.” Think about that for a minute. It means that our suffering only occurs when we resist how things are. If you can change something, then take action! Change it! But if you can’t change it, then you have two choices: (1) either accept it and let go of the negativity, or (2) make yourself miserable by obsessing over it.

2. It’s only a problem if you think it’s a problem.
Many times, we are our own worst enemy. Happiness is really dependent on perspective. If you think something is a problem, then your thoughts and emotions will be negative. But if you think it’s something you can learn from, then suddenly, it’s not a problem anymore.

3. If you want things to change, you need to start with changing yourself.
Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world. Don’t you know people whose lives are chaotic and stressful? And isn’t that largely because they feel chaotic inside? Yes, it is. We like to think that changing our circumstances will change us. But we have it backwards—we need to change ourselves first before our circumstances will change.

4. There is no such thing as failure—only learning opportunities.
You should just wipe the word “failure” right out of your vocabulary. All great people who have ever achieved anything have “failed” over and over. In fact, I think it was Thomas Edison who said something like, “I did not fail at inventing the light bulb, I just first found 99 ways that it didn’t work.” Take your so-called “failures” and learn something from them. Learn how to do it better next time.

5. If you don’t get something you want, it just means something better is coming.
That’s hard to believe sometimes, I know. But it’s true. Usually, when you look back at your life, you will be able to see why it was actually a good thing that something didn’t work out. Maybe the job you didn’t get would have made you spend more time away from your family, but the job you did get was more flexible. Just have faith that everything happens exactly the way it’s supposed to.

6. Appreciate the present moment.
This moment will never come again. And there is always something precious about every moment. So don’t let it pass you by! Soon it will just be a memory. Even moments that don’t seem happy can be looked upon as something that you might miss someday. As the country song by Trace Adkins says, “You’re gonna miss this…you’re gonna want this back. You’re gonna wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast….you may not know this now, but you’re gonna miss this…”

7. Let go of desire.
Most people live with “attached mind.” What this means is that they attach themselves to a desire, and when they don’t get it, their emotions plummet into negativity. Instead, try to practice “detached mind.” That means that when you want something, you will still be happy whether you get it or not. Your emotions remain happy or neutral.

8. Understand and be grateful for your fears.
Fear can be a great teacher. And overcoming fears can also make you feel victorious. For example, when I was in college, I feared public speaking (one of the top 3 fears of all humans). So I find it humorous now that not only do I speak in front of a group every day by being a college professor, I also teach public speaking! Overcoming fears just takes practice. Fear is really just an illusion. It’s optional.

9. Allow yourself to experience joy.
Believe it or not, I know way too many people who don’t allow themselves to have fun. And they don’t even know how to be happy. Some people are actually addicted to their problems and the chaos in them so much that they wouldn’t even know who they are without them. So try to allow yourself to be happy! Even if it’s just for a small moment, it’s important to focus on joy, not your hardships.

10. Don’t compare yourself to other people.
But if you do compare yourself, compare yourself with people who have it worse than you. Unemployed? Be grateful that you live in a country that gives unemployment compensation, because most people in the world live on less that $750 a year. So you don’t look like Angelina Jolie? Well, I bet there are more people who don’t than do. And you are probably way better looking than than you think. Focus on that.

11. You are not a victim.
You need to get out of your own way. You are only a “victim” of your own thoughts, words and actions. No one “does” something to you. You are the creator of your own experience. Take personal responsibility and realize that you can get out of your hard times. You just need to start with changing your thoughts and actions. Abandon your victim mentality and become victorious. From victim to VICTOR!

12. Things can—and do—change.
“And this too shall pass” is one of my favorite sayings. When we are stuck in a bad situation, we think that there is no way out. We think nothing will ever change. But guess what? It will! Nothing is permanent except death. So get out of the habit of thinking that things will always be this way. They won’t. But you do need to take some sort of action for things to change. It won’t magically happen all on its own.

13. Anything is possible.
Miracles happen every day. Really—they do. I wish I had enough space to write about all the miraculous things that have happened to people I know—from healing stage 4 cancer naturally to having their soul mate appear out of nowhere. Trust me: it happens all the time. You just need to believe it does. Once you do, you have won the battle.

I Am Tired Of Representing Nigerians, They Don’t Motivate Me – African China

Reggae artiste, African China has said that Nigerians poor patronage of his songs stems from their inability to demand for quality music.

The singer who chatted with Punch recently also added that Nigerians prefer to patronise mere party songs that lack depth instead of the tunes that mirror the ills in the society.
African China said, ‘‘I have been silent because Nigerians have been so adamant to learn.

I am tired of representing them. I continue to make songs that give the masses hope thereby denying myself of some privileges but I don’t get motivated by them.

I know what I go through to stand with them. I am unhappy with the Nigerian masses.’’

That is what Urban Islandz is claiming. You don’t know what to believe these days. Read the report from UI below…

Rihanna wants nothing to do with Chris Brown who is now literally begging her to take him back. A close source to the Bajan pop star told Urban Islandz that Chris called up Rihanna begging to see her but she shut him down. “He has been texting her nonstop and blowing up her phone begging to meet with her but surprising this time she is holding her ground and told him no,” the source told us. “She basically told him straight up she don’t want him or his basic chick anywhere near her.

Rihanna is in a better place now, she is more content and focus on herself and her career,” the source added. “RiRi will always have love for Chris Brown but she accept that they can’t be together she is way to mature for him,” the source revealed.
